Strepen in beeld bij downconversion van HDV naar standaard dvd
Strepen in het beeld worden bij downconversion veroorzaakt door interlacing. Een correcte workflow is van belang voor het gebruik van HDV footage voor standaard dvd om dit probleem op te lossen. Op internet heb ik de volgende workflow gevonden, die voor mij heeft gewerkt. In het kort: strepen worden veroorzaakt als resizen plaatsvindt voor het de-interlacen. Je moet dus altijd eerst de-interlacen, en pas daarna resizen. Voor uitgebreide informatie bezoek deze website: http://www.100fps.com/
Deze website voor het importeren van HDV-materiaal is ook handig.
Ik maak gebruik van een HVR-Z1-camera voor het filmen van HDV 1080i50 footage, Final Cut Pro voor de montage, en Adobe Encore voor de dvd authoring. (ik verkies Encore boven DVD Studio Pro, omdat Encore ook Blu-ray en Flash support heeft).
De workflow (aangevuld met verbeteringen)
1. I film using a Sony HDV tape in HDV1080i record format.
2. I plug the Z1 into the Mac Pro I am using, via a firewire 400 cable.
3. I create a new project in FCP with the following settings: Sequence preset - HDV 1080i50 / Capture preset - HDV
Device control preset - Sony HDV 1080i50 firewire.
4. De-interlace your footage in Final Cut itself. If your shooting in PAL then you should set the filter-settings to lower field dominance.
5.Apply a very subtle and soft blur, only about 2 - 3 pixels. This should get rid of the jagged edges caused by the de-interlacing.
6. Once edited i go to file > export > quicktime movie and save it to my project folder.
7. I import the Quicktime file in Encore and author the dvd
9. I do this whole proces first in test fase with a piece of film only 1 minute long
10. You might want to look at the speed of your mac too if the result isn’t what you like. As well as amount of storage room and graphic card as I've found this can often cause such issues.
